Shopping with the Thief..

Everything seems to be coming real thick and fast. Tests, assignments, presentations, exams. Once again, we all enter crunch time.

Oh well, its good to take a well-deserved break after awhile la. Met up with Gomathief(heh!) today, and did some shopping. The last time I actually went shopping with a girl, ie me shopping for clothes, was ironically, with her primary school classmate, Ms Tanya Ling.

Hah, but this gal, she knows her stuff man. And shows me the best deals around, stuff you can get at really low prices.. Bought this really nice shirt, or you could call it a top, which was only what, 34 bucks? Pretty good deal, if you ask me. At JL. Of course, chosen by the erm, Almigthy herself. Tsk..

Then at Cafe Cartel, she nicely kicks my leg and then bursts out laughing. Grrr. I mean, bearing in mind I had a hamstring injury, she nicely brings me on a shopping cum walking spree right from Topman at Wisma, till PS.

Of course, we had our wonderful chats there. But this girl, she reminds me of a certain someone, and like I told her earlier, IT ISN'T QUITE A GD THING.. That person being, Aisha. The similarities are scarily uncanny in resemblance. Mannerisms especially. Tsk..

Oh well, its back to that hell-hole I call school tomorrow. Notice how I am beginning to loathe school. Can't wait for the holidays..

Arghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Monster Magnet..

Those who have ever recalled listening to Monster Magnet, or for the matter, known of their existence, put your hands up. I'm guessing not many hands went up there eh?

Ah, expected actually. I mean, with music becoming bloody mainstreamed, you just fail to listen to the good shit out there. Monster's definitely one of them.

Again, heard of the genre, Stoner Rock?? Aye, its a form of rock that fuses slow-to-mid tempo, bassy guitar riffs, psychedelic jams (think Jimi Hendrix), melodic and often slightly raspy vocals(Motorhead comes to mind). Not forgetting its constant reference to Marijuana (Black Sabbath - Sweet Leaf).

I got introduced to Monster Magnet during my time in NS, when the B-U-D-D-Y back in OCS would be blasting their greatest hits cd for the platoon to hear. And like my love with Oasis, I instantly fell in love with them. Their riffs, and especially their catchy outros, amazing stuff.

Wrestling fans, Matt Hardy's entrance theme, is a number by Monster Magnet. I recall sending Powertrippin' once to a female friend, and she got a good shock about ten seconds into the song. Sean too, loves their riffs and often keeps asking, "Dude, when are we doing Powertrippin'??".

So whilst everyone is sucking up the heat, especially when tests and assignments are coming in thick and fast, not forgetting the exams that are edging ever so near, here are some songs that would probably entertain you. Cheers.

1) Live for the Moment
2) Spacelord
3) Powertrippin'
4) Silver Future (my fav!)
5) Slut Machine

PS Here's the latest on Monster Magnet.

On February 27, 2006 Dave Wyndorf(Lead) overdosed on drugs. His management released the following statement:-

The battle with one’s inner demons is the most personal fight any of us can undertake. The fight is at times a lonely, confusing journey. On the evening of February 27, Dave Wyndorf suffered a set back in his own fight and was hospitalized due to a drug overdose. His full recovery is expected. We ask that all those he has encountered over the years or simply affected by his music to take a moment to think good thoughts of and for him. With the grace of God and those who love him we are all confident that Dave will rebound from this set back and continue to play and make great rock and roll.

Hey no we don't let go we all need a daddy
Live in the mirror baby you are the dream
You smash that fucker now and you'll get so clean
Come on and show me what drives your machine

The Dragon Awakens Part 2..

Aye, good to see the tagboard filling up quite fast, with comments related to Uncle Gary's mass email. In fact, his email saga even made a page's report on today's edition of The New Paper.

Now, lets cut to the chase. You have to admit, Gary did bring up some pretty good points. Hall conditions and especially, the hike in school fees. The latter, true, according to CNA, we may not seem to bother about it. Truth be told, there are those of us, who are coming to school, thanks to that bond which the bank, or for the matter, a loan pays us. To say that we do not bother about it, would be an understatement. But, at the end of the day, we all try finding means to cover the hike. Having a protest about it, that too, an open one, would be rather daft.

Next up, the standard of English used by our lecturers. He was pretty smart, to have added the following phrase: "I know I do not use good English", in order to prevent a further rap here. English proficiency, is a good-to-have, but not a must-have. I recall reading somewhere, that the rankings of the universities, is done based on the academic progress of graduates, and their success rate at finding a job upon graduation, NOT ON THE STANDARD OF ENGLISH USED.

True, as JJ and Sadhana mentioned, we do have our overseas lecturers. But you cannot possibly blame them, if they happen to have a strong accent, or if their pronounciation is bad in itself. Ultimately, they were all taught that way, back in their native countries. Singaporean lecturers-wise, I believe the lecturers and tutors who have taught me thus far, have been known to use a reasonable standard of English. In short, one that is COMPREHENDIBLE..

By replacing a lecturer with someone who is far more eloquent, does not mean an increase in As in the cohort. Its common-sense, that it is up to the individual and his/her ability to comprehend the lesson. Besides, we do have foreign students, and throwing in an eloquent tutor/lecturer would further confuse them, bearing in mind most of them had to take an English proficiency test upon entering NTU. So that request, is just plain selfish, and dare I say, redundant.

Finally, there are the living conditions of the hall. I can only think of Hall 7 being the problematic hall, because they now lack drinking water supply. As for the rest, I am pretty sure they are decent enough, barring a few defects. C'mon, if anything, live and let live. The authorities over at my hall conduct checks rather frequently, so I do not see why the question on living conditions need to be brought up. In fact, we had our chairs changed, with the supposed SGD200 ones. Hey, welfare what? That's one way of improving living condititons eh?

I am very sure, that our Student Union is there, for a reason, and not to just give away "goodie bags, free ice creams, free T-shirt, free this free that". Lets give them credit, they have done quite a bit so far, and to ask for more, is rather shameless.

Therefore, Mr Gary, you come across, as a really huge whiny. There are proper channels to feedback such stuff to the school, and I am very sure, mass-emailing the whole school is NOT ONE OF THEM. That, clearly, is unethical. Sums up the amount of respect you have for the school.

To sum up sentiments in school, we aren't really bothered about his wide-spread calls for protest. As Mr Tan Woon Lea said to the TNP, "Singaporean students will not bother and foreign students are too busy. We are all apathetic."

The Dragon Awakens Part 1..

From: #GOH SOO LIANG GARY#
Sent: Monday, March 20, 2006 1:02 PM
Subject: URGENT: Getting the attention of the university regarding your problem READ THIS IF U WANT BETTER EDUCATION IN NTU
Importance: High

Dear student,

Do you need a course instructor that can speak proper English?

The purpose of this email is to looking for committee members and other interested party to form an informal committee to deal with the school regarding all issues that students think is important to solve. Please delete this email if you are here just to study. I am looking for people who want to improve the university system. I am looking for those with courage and willing to spent time to do something extremely meaningful. I need real man and ladies who have great leadership. There is no certificate given to committee members and also no pay for you. This is an event after the exam. (Hence it wouldn’t affect your study.)

We might be organizing large scale protest to gain awareness. Delete it if you only care your own business.

Disclaimer: This in not an email initiates an agenda to overthrow the student union or any other illegal action.

Dear students,

Now we shall proceed with the email.
Yes we have been passive for many years; we are brought up in this kind of environment. Yes, our school is doing quite well in the world. We are rank 48. I hope you are very happy with it.

Yet, there is some question to think about.

We have been asking for course instructor that can speak proper English!

Are we asking too much from the school? Hey we are the customer of the university. I am a scholar (I am not trying to show u how good I am as a scholar), I don’t pay the tuition fees, But think about those who pay their tuition fees, when tuition fees is raising, yet year after year, the lecturer (who cant speak proper English) that we keep complaining is still teaching, how you feel? what is the reason behind it?

What if my lecturer is a noble prize winner who cannot speak proper English, do I learn from him?

When we want more places in special semester, the school has not enough resources, yet they are buying chairs that price SGD2000 a piece.

What if I can get goodies bags, free ice creams, free T-shirt, free this free that, yet the union have no power over important issues.

And more and more issue are to be discuss…

I am proposing to have a group of student with great leadership to come together to form a committee to deal with the school.

Time and money are expected to be spent. Nothing can be claim back. We do not have grant here. It might be the 1st time in history of NTU that student can deal with school in a serious and legal way.

We are dealing with your problem. Think about it, are you satisfied with the university system? There should be a man(it could be a woman as well, I am not discriminating female) to stand out to lead the students to claim a stake in the university. We want to be consult for important university decision.

Student, what are you waiting? Stand up and fight for your consumer rights or you will be given low quality education for your years here. Be confused in the lecture by not understanding the English your lecturer use or stand up and speak up, the choice is yours.

For more information, reply to this email or contact me at 9******.

I know I do not use good English, please don’t call me or reply to me and tell me this. That is why I need you here!

Regards,

This mailer, has been creating a huge stir in school of late. The inbox gets filled, just from replies to Gary's request.

Dear readers, I'd like to hear comments from the floor. Anything, even better if you happen to be a student of NTU. Hey, nothing to be ashamed about. Its free speech. The tagboard's yours.

Be sure, that the next entry, will be about this issue, and my thoughts on it. =)

Love is only a feeling..

We all have our differing takes on the four lettered word, that seemingly, makes the world go round - though i purpose that it is money that does the job. DOLLARH baby, DOLLARH!!

Ever been thrown this situation? You break up with a girl, and you think everything's all going smoothly. Then, one fine day, the girl gets a marriage proposal, and worse, is forced into getting hitched by her parents.

All, in the space of what, 2 months after the break up??

Shitty innit?? And you think, that all relationships have this happily-ever-after-ending feel to it. Some do, but sometimes, one has to think, before he acts. Like before getting into one, the pros and cons, the success rate, and what not. Gone are the days of your Suryavamsam or Mohabbatein-types of love stories. Some may go on to exist, I can't be any much happier for those souls.

Life, its a practical issue. Live it to the fullest, but approach wisely. Cheers!

Goodbye for now
(I'm not the type to say I told you so)
Goodbye for now
So long

(I think the hardest part of holding on is lettin go)

When will we sing

Of printf and scanf...

A very good morning to all. Here I am, blogging away, instead of modifying some silly program that will compute the length of a tetrahedron. Jesus, when will it ever stop!! Oh, in case you haven't been warned, this is gonna be one angsty entry. Aimed at noone. I kinda got inspired by the hot malay chica next to me, who started bloggin' away, whilst I was trying to make sense of today's lesson.

Now, onto today's topic. Computing. Over the weekend, I finally made sense of what printf and scanf actually does. Sad part, it came about two months late. Then, there's my tutor. Everytime he opens his mouth, I just got to enter my PRC mode, and try deciphering the words that are coming out from his mouth (Chris Tucker, don't sue me!). What's a PRC mode? Think toilet, now try pronouncing it as toi-ler. Yepz, nothing against my Chinese brothers, in fact, PPTv Live is one programme on my laptop, that saves me the trouble to walk to the comm hall, just to catch the match of the day. Simply put, you watch EPL games on your laptop. I love them for that!!

Not many people would know, but this happens to be my first computing lesson in 3 weeks. Yes, and almost everyone in class had this return-of-the-prodigal-son-look. Like, "I thought he quit school" or, "Weren't you the one with long hair??". Even better, one told me, "I think I've seen you before.. Hmmm.." Ass, though that clown used to be my classmate back in SJI.

And like the old adage, "When it rains, it pours". A test in two weeks time, and I'm still at chapter 3, out of 11. Tsk, but I got to hand myself a pat on the back. That for the first time, in awhile, I sprung out of bed, and instead of the usual "My body deserves a bit more rest" excuse, I actually ran to the showers, before I change my mind, and end up sleeping again. Good on you, Karthik. *Pats himself.

Then there was last saturday. When I showed my dad the first ever program I modified, somehow he had this look of satisfaction. Nah, not that he was impressed, but he has, for some strange reason, have this picture going, where I end up being a computer engineer, and put all the expats outta business here. Paps, not happening. I mean, computing students, past and present, would admit to detesting the subject. Simply put, typing out programs on a software like C++, not very appealing.

Why?? That odd error that will pop up, making you tinker, just to let the program run smoothly. It could all be a case of a missing " or a ;. YES, THESE PUNCTUATIONS ACTUALLY MATTER A HELL LOT IN COMPUTING. And keywords too!! I actually spent an hour, figuring out why the values were not being computed correctly, only to realise, that a FLOAT, instead of a DOUBLE should have been used. Can someone please explain to me, the difference??? Man, and you wish the clown who created C programming had just instead, created something else. Hmm, but then again, blogging would not have been possible now, would it??

So yeah, as a case with most of my bitch-away entries (not many here, the last blog had loads), I guess I do not have much of a choice. Being the evergreen optimist, as always, there is STILL time, and hopefully, the next time I speak about computing, its gonna be a good one. I like discovering new things, and get rather amazed quickly, so this should not be a problem eh?

Anihoo, its the beginning of a new week, and I hope everyone has a good week ahead. Something tells me, this is gonna be a good one for me. Watch this space. =)

PS The star signs one, people, part 3 will be out, most likely after my exams. I still am sourcing out my info. Gimme some time yeah!! =)

And all the roads
we have to walk are winding
And all the lights
that lead us there are blinding

There are many things that I
would like to say to you
But I don't know how

A Story by Aisha...

I just happened to chance upon one of my unused exercise books, and I noticed a story written by our dear Aisha. Yes, the perennial vaayaadee. Decided to give her some airtime here, since I do not know where the book may go, once I return back from hall. This, is her story (as written on the book, with no changes)..

The Rabbit and the Tortise

Once upon time there was a rabbit who is very proud. He always thinks he is the winner and he thinks he is proud. One day, the rabbit asks the tortise, can we have a race. The tortise says I am so slow you are faster then me.

"Please", says the rabbit. So the tortise sasy yes i will come. Next day, the tortise and the rabbit start the race. The monkey says 1, 2, 3, start. The rabbit and the tortise start. The rabbit runs faster then the tortise. The tortise was still behind.

After so long the rabbit saw many carrots. He saw the tortise was still behind. The rabbit diceded to take a rest. The tortise saw the rabbit taking rest. The tortise saw the rabbit snoring. The tortise walk fast and wins the race. The rabbit wake up and see. The rabbit runs but it cannot win.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY: DO NOT BE PROUD OF YOURSELF

Cute, innit??

PS Excuse her spelling mistakes ya, I mean, she's just a kid.

PPS She goes on to grade herself, with a red pen, A.

One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest..

I have been kinda pushed to write an entry, since my last proper entry was like a good 5 days back. Also, its been awhile, since I wrote something pretty reflective, so call this a mid-term report card. =)

Everyone goes through a weeding process. In that, you find yourself being weeded out either the unnecessary people, the backstabbers, or the hypocrites. The funniest part, is that this process happens either with your knowledge, or at times, even without you knowing. Three months on, I've found myself, with a clean garden. Mind you, there still could be some weeds out there, but I am pretty sure most of them, have been cleared.

Then, there are the mistakes we make. Maybe its my high tolerance for people making mistakes, or perhaps, just me being able to trust a person almost instantly. By high tolerance, I refer to my ability to brush aside mistakes made by people around me, especially towards me. I mean, c'mon, to err is human eh? We aren't some kinda special beings created for perfection. But when does this tolerance level break? When someone breaks my trust in them. And worse, lose my respect for them.

Trust, when lost, is something you can gain back after a long time. Respect though, you can forget about earning it back. Now, do not get me wrong, this can mean both ways. I have lost my respect and trust, to a certain group of people, but I am very sure, some out there have lost theirs on me. Either way, I am blessed with the people I am with right now. People from the past, and some from the present. For that, I convey my heartfelt thanks.

Moving on, I guess its only fair I write about this fantastic friend of mine, whom I just got to know, over the last few weeks. Pretty ironically, through a common friend. Yepz, I'm talking about that delusional girl who claims to be an almighty on my tagboard. Sheesh. She is pretty amazing, with her roots stemming deep towards culture and values, and just the other time, when I was telling Jesh, the other amazing cuckoo (see, I gave you airtime) about her, she was impressed herself. And impressing my dear cuzzie, is a feat in itself. Conversations with this kway teow are really deep, yet witty and at times, rather lame. Add to that, her good friend Candi, and Prashanth, bam, you just have good times chatting on MSN. Oh, forgot to mention her name. Hehe, Gomathi. Another, of the half-ling pride (part telugu, part tamil).

At the moment, I'm just sniffing the roses, and breathing in the fresh air. Its never felt better, and long, may it last.

Its the little things
They make me so happy
All I want to do is live by the sea

Its the little things
They make me so happy
Yeah its good, yes its good
Its good to be free...

Aloofness..

Someone once told me, keep your friends close, your enemies closer. I do not know how people pull that off, but if they manage to do so, well, good on you.

As for me, I like being aloof. Gom and I had a really good chat about this earlier, and we realized, that it always pays to be aloof. No, its not the half-ling blood talking, though there will be an entry dedicated to half-lings very soon. =)

Like when you know you just cannot salvage anything with mere words or actions, or even by being nice, be aloof. Simple. You stay outta shit, you look at other people get into shit, and you have a good laugh about it.

That's how I like to work. Sit on the fence, look at people around me, some trying to pose as holier-than-thous, some putting on a strong front, but in actual fact, they do everything else, that do not live up to those names. Interesting eh?

But then again, if too many people sit on the fence, you end up watching nothing. So please, entertain me with your nonsense, like your acts and lies. Because, aloofness seems to be my dominant trait in Nohari, and I am more than keen, to live up to it.

Moral of the story: Don't trust anybody. Trust yourself, cause you are your best judge. Have a nice day..

Breaking your limits...

Ever tried pulling off a gargantuan stunt, one that will probably put a feather to your cap, or if not, at least you know, that you achieved something?? I just pulled it off earlier.

As most of my friends would know, and Mother condones it everytime I tell her, I usually have at least a meal from McDonalds' every two days. I do not know why. Perhaps its my dysfunctional body clock, or their wonderful 24hr delivery service that has to be, their greatest gift to mankind at the moment.

Being a member means you earn points, and with countless deliveries, the points kept on piling up. Till today, I told myself, time to use them up. Now, do note, that I had my first dinner (or lunch) at 5.30pm, and it was roastec chicken rice.

At 9.35pm, I make my way to Canteen A, all set to use my points up. Having gotten there, I was thinking, why not try the 20 piece McNuggets. Gargantuous, it sure was, but hey, at least my roomie's back in hall. Should not be a prob la.

Having gotten it, I return back. Then, horror of horrors, my roomie's disappeared. Again. I call him, he tells me, its okie, he has eaten. Left with 20 pieces, I decide, Okie, ITADIKIMASU (lets eat in japanese). As I was about to dip my first nugget, Yanling calls. We chat for awhile, before hanging up. Again, the same nugget, and this time, Gomathi. I was like, its a sign eh? Now, Gom and Yanz, I find them really similar, in that whenever I chat with them, I just cannot stop but laugh at their antics and yet, be ever so practical about stuff.

Then, it begins. One nugget, two nuggets. All whilst watching Munich on my laptop. Then, I see two blinking messages. Grrr, Sailaja and Usha telling me how they hated me for whacking 20 nuggets, and yet remain ever so lean. Sheesh. Haha. 45 minutes later, I was done, albeit struggling to finish up the last four.

Life, is all about testing your limits. You get a kick by achieving outta the ordinary. I ain't saying this is a huge achievement, but if we kept pushing on and never give up, ultimately, we will reach the end, and it will feel, like a huge achievement. No pain, no gain. =)

As for me, well, I just have a bottomless pit for a stomach. And yet, can't seem to pile on the pounds. Arghh!!!!

A Chat with Bobo..

Its an unwritten rule in my blog. That everybody has to like Bobo. To those who have chatted with him before, or know him, you know what I mean. To those who dunno who in the blue hell, he is, well, Chen Guan Hao aka Bobo was my section mate back in BMT and wingmate in OCS. Wherever he is, you just can't help but manage a good laugh with his antics and comments.

Why Bobo? Well, once during IMT (the one with the computerised range), he happened to be the only clown who did not get a marksmanship. I mean, everyone else, including the blur dude in my section got it, but not Guan Hao. Hence, the name, Bobo. Ask him to pay up 2 bucks for a haircut, he replies with another question: Sergeant, what if I've got 10? Haha, hair-tearin eh? But he's a really nice dude..

Snippets frm my convo with him, right after I sent him a video with me playing the guitar..

A Beautiful Day..

To all those who were expecting an entry on The Scorpions, The Capricorns and The Taureans, erm, gotta wait people. I am really saturated at the moment, soaking every moment of what transpired to be a really good Monday.

I kinda got locked out of my room thanks to Roomie, who left without telling me, whilst I was happily styling my hair. Yes, the long hair. You will hear more about that in awhile. Heh. So it took me 20 minutes before I finally got back into my room. Thankfully, Mad and Satish were in their rooms, and also, that my Roomie's a family friend. So the number's kinda etched in the family phone directory, and all it took was a couple of calls before I got my Roomie.

After that, met up with good ol' Prabhu, for dinner. Its always nice to meet your best friend, who knows you inside out, and you likewise, know him too. What, a good 13 years, and we still are going on strong. Good on you, buddy. He's currently trainee-teaching at Xin Nan Primary, and is also doubling up as the school's soccer coach. They had a match today, against Pioneer Primary, and he was reliving every moment of that match.

Half Time - Pioneer 2 Xin Nan 1
Full Time - Pioneer 2 Xin Nan 4

Yepz, he somehow pulled off the greatest half-time comebacks, and if not, talks in primary school soccer history, all during his stint as a trainee teacher. The first thing that crossed my mind, the amazing night at Istanbul.

Anihoo, after dinner, Prabhu said he was going to have his hair cut. Now, for the last few days, I've been considering cutting my hair. Not that Gom had anything to do with it (you sure wish ah!!! hahah), but I missed spiking up my hair. It does not help, when you meet up the Amigos after that, and one has gone to the barber for a haircut. This all, at good old JP.

Eventually, I decided, it was worth the ride, but its time for the spikes to make its return. The amount of shockwaves I received, especially from Ms Sadhana (Praise the Lord - arghhhhhhh) and Ms Gomathi's sniggering, well, it was kinda unanimous eh? Haha. Though one poor gal wanted it kept the way it was, Ms Meera.. =)

And to think the drama was over. At Sri Nada, almost every other barber, upon finishing their haircuts, were just looking at me getting myself sheared, not forgetting a couple of customers. Haha, but it all turned out good. And as usual, Mad, Jon and Satish had the biggest laughters upon seeing my haircut..

Oh well, here's to a wonderful memory. Not many would have the balls to carry a long haired image, but hey, if you do not try, you will never know how it would be like. For now, I'm happy with spikes..

Nitez everyone..

PS MEERA!!!! You just made my day the other time babe. Glad you had fun too. We should do this again!!!

Quote of the Day - I'M LOVING IT!!!

Look at the Stars (Pt 2)

Aye aye, due to the good response received from Part 1, the series continues. I hope everyone out there had a great weekend, cause I had a fantastic one myself. A brilliant date on friday, a wonderful game of soccer on saturday, and of course, my loving family on sunday. What more can I ask for eh??

Alright then, as promised..

The Geminis

We continue our series with the twins. If you happen to have a cliq of friends, the Gemini usually stands out in the most unique of ways. Why? They just happen to be the most playful and fun people to be with.

To them, life is just something to live for, and enjoy to the fullest, and one can only admire at how they counter obstacles in their paths. As read earlier, the various star signs react differently to adversity, but the twins just have the whole 'Take it as a joke' feeling to things. This lax in attitude rarely troubles them, though once they fall too deep into a problem, then it can prove a little challenging to bail themselves out.

Sadly, I cannot bring to mind that many Geminis whom I know, only Usha (she's cranky for a reason. heh, love u cuzzie!!), Suresh, and Venkatesh. Well, they just add much needed colour to a life that can sometimes feel a little too routine and dull.

The Librans

Next up, the Scales. These people have a unique way of interacting, which endears one to them almost instantly. Yes, don't deny it, you guys are all flirtatious. Haha. Aye, do not take this as an attack, but its a fact. I remember reading this somewhere back in secondary school, and kinda put this theory to test. Bam, I was right.

The Librans like to have some clean fun, and so come across as such. But having said that, they are excellent people to go get advice from. Or rather, they provide an impartial and fair view on things. Ask them about their day, they will go, 'Oh, it was okie la. Not too bad.', instead of the usual 'It was a really screwed up day man.' or 'Today was great la'.

Another interesting fact, do a check on the number of people born on October 18. When that day comes, I usually send out close to 6 sms greetings on that day. Think that's freaky??? Wait till you hear abt The Virgos..

The Virgos

To conclude this part of the series, I bring you, The Virgos. They tend to come across as being very guarded people. In a group of unknowns, its often easy to spot a Virgo. Now, do not take this trait as being very stuck up or proud.

On the contrary, the reason why they tend to be guarded, stems from their interest in learning more about a person, like his/her behaviour, character and habits. Win them over, and you will have someone who will always be there for you. This, is very true for all the Virgos I know.

In fact, I received an sms from a JC friend some time back, and he's a Virgo too. He was going on about how we should all meet up, and do stuff with our cliq. See what I mean?

Virgos are also very trustworthy people (after you've earned their trust that is) and they often provide very practical solutions to stuff that we seem to complicate at times. One usually loves the company of a Virgo, as they provide warmth and maternal instincts to their friends and loved ones.

I pity my future spouse though, the amount of convincing she has to undertake just to appease my Virgo of a Mum. Heh..

Interesting fact 2: People born on September 13. Real freaky huh? Tash and I were running through the number of people born on that day, and we hit beyond ten. Sheesh.

With that, comes the end of the second part. Next up, The Scorpions, The Capricorns and The Taureans. I bid you all, a great week ahead.

PS Now you know what 4D numbers to buy eh?? Hint hint.. But hey, miss out on the cash prize, don't come looking for me. If anything, its just your stupidity banking on such beliefs.. =)

PPS The Rajoos have unearthed a child prodigy. One who not only looks like Ronaldo (teeth and size), but also plays like him. All it took, was 5 mins to teach him the step over, and he cuts past both of my cousins with that move. Haha, and only 12!!!
*wipes off tears of joy..

Look at the Stars (Pt 1)..

Ah yes, notice how I have entries starting with a Pt 1, but the Pt 2 somehow never follows up?? Hehe, well, this time, there will be more than a part 2. Was having a really long conversation with Gom (she claims to be Almighty, but we all know la ah Gom..) during the wee hours of the morning, and she suggested that I go ahead with this brainchild that I kinda conceived whilst struggling to sleep. No, not insomnia, though the idea of having an alter ego to carry out Fight Club style activities sure sound appealing. I digress..

Basically this is like a four part series where I kinda read your zodiac signs. NO, I HAVE NOT BECOME AN ASTROLOGER, but rather, you find that some traits exist between people of the same sign..

So sit back, and enjoy.. Coz Gom was really impressed with my theories for the various star signs. How I was able to do that, well, watch out for the one on The Aquarians.. =)

The Arians

We kick things off with the rams. Arians generally come across as proud people. Now, do not get me wrong here, being proud is a good thing. To them, its all about their pride. They will never let their pride get in the way, and more often than not, you'd always end up looking at them in awe, just by the way they deal with adversities and challenges. They will never admit defeat to anything, and are known to be pretty witty too.

Despite their tough exterior, they have a strong foothold on matters related to the heart. Their stand on relationships, be it friendships or BGRs hold an important place. Which is why, when an Arian does something that makes him/her look weak, or for the matter, place their pride aside, one should not poke fun at such an act. This is because, it takes a lot for an Arian to put something they hold very important (their pride) aside.

If the word 'strong' was to be coined to a certain group of people, the Arians would most definitely get my vote.

The Leos

Next up, we have the lions. Throw in an Arian and a Leo, and you will be guaranteed fireworks. Just ask Irfan/Aisha and Niva. Sheesh, the amount of fights and verbal arguments they get into. I end up being the mediator. Sigh..

That's the thing about a Leo. Just like the Arians, they hold onto pride with a lot of importance. To them, bringing them to shame, is like shaving the lion's mane. And they LOATHE that. They may come across as being snobby, but that often, is not the case.

Leos know how to live it up, and if one looks closely at the lifestyle of a Leo, he/she sure knows how to live it up to the fullest. To them, extravagance is a key issue, which adds to the whole pride factor.

Their drive to excel in the fields that they are in, is second to none, and a good characteristic about them is their ability to brush aside any setback with relative ease, and carry on with their journey towards their goal. However, they like to whine quite a bit, and no amount of pacifying can make them stop. But do not judge their whingings as a form of weakness, remember, they are a bunch of lions who really hate being thought of as being weak..

Do I hear a few lions and cubs growling in the distance now?? Yikes.. But having said all of that, they do have a soft exterior too. One that they rarely show, but when they do, its something that makes one like them even more..

The Saggis

To conclude the first part of this series, we have the Saggis. Yes, the half archer - half horse. Like their physical form, they come across as being quite fickle. For instance, they decide on doing something, but end up doing something else. And then, they lament about why they even did that. The cycle continues.

But if you notice, Saggis have a great deal of patience, which probably explains why they still want to try and do something radical, even though they know the chances of success are quite slim.

Earn the trust of a Saggi, and you'd have an archer to help you fight your battles, or if not, at least a horse's back to lean on. And they often provide soothing comfort with their actions and words, and that, adheres one to a Saggitarius rather instantly...

Aye then, that was pretty comprehensive for a first part. Do watch out for the next ones, featuring The Virgos, The Librans and The Geminis.. Cheers..

PS Many have asked me where I got this from. These are MY OWN FINDINGS, based on my experiences with people, and finding common characteristics of those under the same sign.. Some parts may end up being spot on, but hey, guess I'm just that brilliant huh? Heh..

Remember the name..

Aye, as many would know, I am a huge Oasis fan. And not many would know, however, that I missed out on the concert last week. Yes, very heartbreaking, I know. With all the hype on my blog and people around me, doesn't really help went the standing tickets get sold out two weeks before the concert. And worse, two days before the event, a close friend of mine tells me that her group of friends were intending to buy me a ticket as a birthday prezzie, but were unsure if I'd gotten my tickets. Not blaming them, don't get me wrong, but just, cruel fate..

But as mysteriously as fate wields us, I managed to find a fellow partner, who had a similar situation, this time, with Linkin Park. Hence, we arrived, at FORT MINOR!!!!

I tell you, whilst queueing up to enter, Candi and I noticed the crowd to be really young. Imagine someone my age entering Cheekyz?? Yeah, something like that. Doesn't help when after the show, i overhear three boys talking about skipping school the next day because of an E Maths test. Sheesh..

Of course, I'm pretty darn sure every mother-son came there just for one person - Mike Shinoda. I mean, LP fame, and now, helping front FM?? I ain't quite the hip hop person, but the beats and songs, just kept the adrenaline pumpin!!! Add to that, the whole shouting - Candi got deaf, I lost my voice..

Still, it was great fun, especially when a certain Wolfman was spotted near our vicinity. Gom, you have been warned.. Heh..

What began as a rebound concert, sure turned out really fun.. Who's coming next?? I wanna go!!! Though the sound systems could be improved..

I guess
That this is where we've come to
If you don't want to
Then you don't have to
Believe me

But I
Won't be there when you go down
Just so you know now
You're on your own now
Believe me

Believe me by Fort Minor (the last number of the concert)
