Of printf and scanf...

A very good morning to all. Here I am, blogging away, instead of modifying some silly program that will compute the length of a tetrahedron. Jesus, when will it ever stop!! Oh, in case you haven't been warned, this is gonna be one angsty entry. Aimed at noone. I kinda got inspired by the hot malay chica next to me, who started bloggin' away, whilst I was trying to make sense of today's lesson.

Now, onto today's topic. Computing. Over the weekend, I finally made sense of what printf and scanf actually does. Sad part, it came about two months late. Then, there's my tutor. Everytime he opens his mouth, I just got to enter my PRC mode, and try deciphering the words that are coming out from his mouth (Chris Tucker, don't sue me!). What's a PRC mode? Think toilet, now try pronouncing it as toi-ler. Yepz, nothing against my Chinese brothers, in fact, PPTv Live is one programme on my laptop, that saves me the trouble to walk to the comm hall, just to catch the match of the day. Simply put, you watch EPL games on your laptop. I love them for that!!

Not many people would know, but this happens to be my first computing lesson in 3 weeks. Yes, and almost everyone in class had this return-of-the-prodigal-son-look. Like, "I thought he quit school" or, "Weren't you the one with long hair??". Even better, one told me, "I think I've seen you before.. Hmmm.." Ass, though that clown used to be my classmate back in SJI.

And like the old adage, "When it rains, it pours". A test in two weeks time, and I'm still at chapter 3, out of 11. Tsk, but I got to hand myself a pat on the back. That for the first time, in awhile, I sprung out of bed, and instead of the usual "My body deserves a bit more rest" excuse, I actually ran to the showers, before I change my mind, and end up sleeping again. Good on you, Karthik. *Pats himself.

Then there was last saturday. When I showed my dad the first ever program I modified, somehow he had this look of satisfaction. Nah, not that he was impressed, but he has, for some strange reason, have this picture going, where I end up being a computer engineer, and put all the expats outta business here. Paps, not happening. I mean, computing students, past and present, would admit to detesting the subject. Simply put, typing out programs on a software like C++, not very appealing.

Why?? That odd error that will pop up, making you tinker, just to let the program run smoothly. It could all be a case of a missing " or a ;. YES, THESE PUNCTUATIONS ACTUALLY MATTER A HELL LOT IN COMPUTING. And keywords too!! I actually spent an hour, figuring out why the values were not being computed correctly, only to realise, that a FLOAT, instead of a DOUBLE should have been used. Can someone please explain to me, the difference??? Man, and you wish the clown who created C programming had just instead, created something else. Hmm, but then again, blogging would not have been possible now, would it??

So yeah, as a case with most of my bitch-away entries (not many here, the last blog had loads), I guess I do not have much of a choice. Being the evergreen optimist, as always, there is STILL time, and hopefully, the next time I speak about computing, its gonna be a good one. I like discovering new things, and get rather amazed quickly, so this should not be a problem eh?

Anihoo, its the beginning of a new week, and I hope everyone has a good week ahead. Something tells me, this is gonna be a good one for me. Watch this space. =)

PS The star signs one, people, part 3 will be out, most likely after my exams. I still am sourcing out my info. Gimme some time yeah!! =)

And all the roads
we have to walk are winding
And all the lights
that lead us there are blinding

There are many things that I
would like to say to you
But I don't know how
(I said I don't know how!!!)
