Gospel of Judas

Caught the documentary that's been running on the National Geographic, detailing the finding of a Gospel, according to Judas? Yep, the dude who gave the most infamous kiss ever known, that betrayed Jesus. The show gives a whole new persona, to the supposed 'evil' character whom we all portray Judas as.

See, NG just got kinda bundled into the whole SCV, no wait, StarHub cable thingy, where you gotta have three basic groups, and since Sports was the priority, my sister chose this group, whilst Dad took the news one. Hmm, though channels 13-16 would probably fit, the white elephant category at home now. Tsk..

Nonetheless, I've often been fascinated, by biblical stuff. Seel, I had a rather free upbringing, where my folks would bring me to the Novena, and say a few prayers there. Not forgetting my alliance with Catholic schools, namely De La Salle and SJI. Sums up why I read the bible at times, especially when they have such interesting stories in them. Do not get me wrong, I embrace my religion, Hinduism, with a lot of pride, but I also do respect and like to read up, on the other religions.

In short, the program comes to show, how Judas Escariot DID NOT betray Jesus. And that the Gospels of Mark, Matthew, John and Luke were all written, about two centuries after this Gospel was written. The wonders, of carbon-dating.

In fact, it was like, what you'd call Karma. That it was Judas' destiny, to betray Jesus. He claimed to have seen the very act, as a vision, and upon consulting Jesus, was told that it was his act, and that though for eternity, he would be damned, the heavens would open its gates to welcome him.

Perhaps, that could have been what transpired, on that fateful night, or maybe, as re-enacted in many a play all over the world, Judas having aligned himself with the Romans and the Jews. Whatever it is, it sure did give rise, to Anti-Semitic feelings. Think Hitler and John (my clerk from G2 Br). Heh.

Not forgetting, Dracula 2000, which had Judas coming back as a vampire.

Hmm... Suddenly, Judas seems a cooler guy now..
