Media - a proven form of propagandaI was watching the Sun News earlier, and quite frankly, was appalled at what they were showing its viewers. Atrocities that happened during Jayalalitha's reign as Chief Minister, and how villagers have been affected. My old man then goes on to draw parallels, with how Sun Tv is rather similarly to our media scene. For those who do not know, Sun Tv is under Karunanithi.
Bring the media closer to home, we saw how the media here have downplayed a lot of the opposition's strengths, choosing to portray their weaknesses and in the process, dare I say, fooling the people around us who actually made that cross next to the PAP. No grudges against them, just that its only fair it is impartial. Or for the matter, we always want it to play that role.
Then, there is the role of blogs. Ponraj mentioned this to me a few nights back, about how blogging has become a powerful tool of propoganda. And yes, I do agree on that point, that we use blogging as means of conversing our thoughts or feelings about a certain situation.
Which comes to the nonsense, that has engulfed me, thanks to the foolishness of people and what nots. Not like I am all moody whatsoever. Rather, it simply, amuses me. At the stupidity of people. One claims to have been called names, the other claims nothing has happened. My god..
So someone calls you names, big deal. Like I have never been coined such names? Hell, I even was approached once back in Jan, for not having to cross paths with you again, yet this very person goes on to discuss shit about me. In fact, this person even goes on to have a night long of gossip, about me with a common acquaintance. God knows how many nights of that must have gone on. I could have gone on the offence then, but for what?? That will start another cycle of name-calling and unpleasantries being exchanged. Waste of time somemore. But that does not mean, I lay conceited in defeat to these people. See, the best moves are played after the fake ones have been put up. In this case, I've let it all pass, because it just makes you look the fool. And the people around you.
Now, that does not absolve the other person involved for anything. Perhaps you didn't mention it on your security vault of a blog. Or perhaps, you didn't mention it to anyone else. Then I wonder, how your name got involved?? Very, very fishy, I must say. Like I mentioned in an earlier entry, as much as foolishness of an individual puts me off deeply, I can be very tolerant to people, just because of that one piece of goodwill that they may have done to me. In this case, dare I say, the very fact that I am going out there, to try and clear it up for you, does not mean, you just draw some line away from me, or try and make it seem that it was my fault. If it truly was, then you simply arent worthy of being my friend. Remember, end of the day, your problem is with her.
I gave you two options, and I hope, that you'd exercise the option that you feel best suits you. They are, afterall, the most logical options.
So yeah, as for me, I get entertained by such nonsense going on. One has a poem running, the other just locks me out of her blog. The blogger song comes to mind, as I type all this..
To end off, would like to quote what my darling of a mother told me, when I was a little kid..
"Let the dogs bark at you, while you just sit there like the sun.. Soakin it all in"..Score one to mummy!!
