So izzit about Kaypoh-ness then??

Such a flourish, not seen on my tagboard, for awhile. High time, I address the question I proposed.

In modern parlance, the hacker ethic is either:

the belief that information-sharing is a powerful positive good, and that it is an ethical duty of hackers to share their expertise by writing free software and facilitating access to information and computing resources wherever possible; and/or
the belief that system cracking for fun and exploration is ethically acceptable as long as the hacker commits no theft, vandalism, or breach of confidentiality.

Ok, reading your friend's, or even some anonymous dude's inbox, given in such a scenario posted earlier, doesn't constitute you to being a hacker. That would probably devalue all the C programmers out there (this coming from the dude repeating Computing next sem). However, its the second part, of the blogger's ethic, that I feel a curious person reading another's email, should adhere to.

Noone can beat, curiosity. We all, at some point in time, have this nosiness in us, that makes us do such stuff. You'd be GOD, not to succumb to such temptations. Of course, if you happen to make it a point not to read them, I respect that. So long as you live up to it, that's even better.

Now, what if, upon reading those emails, you go around revealing what was written in the emails? Now, that would be, a breach of confidentiality, innit? Because, in the very first place, you weren't even invited to read them. Curiosity bit the cat, we all accept eh? But to go around and publicise what's been written? Aah, therein, lies an example I am about to state.

Some might have noticed, that I had written an entry a week ago, about how an ex gf of mine and a friend, had been warring because of some comments passed. Of course, I duly chose to ignore, but knowing my ex, she wouldn't like me to act in that way. So after four entries, she got my attention, rather ironically with how she signed off her reply to Gom, in her final entry of the series. Truce you call? My foot.

See, I had emailed Gom, who has become a dear friend to me, about some stuff I was feeling during the exam period. And of course, being the dear friend that she is, she offered words of solace. However, because I once used a pc that somehow recollects my password upon prompting, my ex gf stumbles upon this, and bam, hits the minefield la. Stuff that I had written in confidence, to my friends and cuzin, all for the viewing pleasures, of one (though I know there are more) clown. Okie, read alredi, can keep shush rite? But you should know about my ex, she has this knick knack, of craving attention. In this case, she gave it to me la.

So what's the best thing to get back at me, for stating stuff on my emails? Whack the people I sent. She couldn't whack my cousin, so the next best person, the one whom she doesn't even know.

"If you wanted to clarify things, you could have admitted that you have bitched about me. I know you have and I have enough evidence that you have. Yet you went on to email me and lie some more. Whatever for? Why couldn't you just have ignored me if you didn't want conflict? I never openly said it was you. Yet you obviously are defensive."

Aahmaa laa, periya GOD child. Please, you made use of my own inbox, and used it against my friend? Waah waah, kia bhaatheh. So not only does she go and humiliate my friend by publicising her email, she also threatens. How again?? By using the cheapest of methods, access through my inbox.

"Karthik can go ahead and bitch about me all he wants. He DOES know me and while he distorts situations and makes me look like a cheat,a bitch and a slut, I don't quite care. Unlike you,I believe my reputation is made off far more solid things than just what ONE person says about me."

Wait wait, so you do not quite care?? Hmmmm. Contradiction. Reminds me of Ah-neh's tag the other time. Then why go about slamming my friend for her views? So they may be 'distorted', why freaking bother?? If you're really confident of urself and you believe you have always done the right thing, you wldnt give a rat's ass abt other people's opinions of you..

Thing is, stuff always have a knack of finding me, during times like these. Nthg could beat this one though, and yeah, I hand it to you, you did play a good game now. I am giving you this final chance, no wait, take this as a warning, stay out of this, forever. Knowing you, you wouldn't, but trust me, quit it. I have a lot more, on myside, that can make you wish, you even regretted having access to my inbox in the first place. You wanted my attention, you got it, quit while you still have the chance.

"You can choose to put this up on your blog, just as i did your email. But lets make a few things straight. I never once bitched about you behind your back,but the very moment this goes onto your blog, you'd have the exact words you spewed about me to my ex boyfriend on MY blog."

You still wanna try putting up her email on display? Go on and put la. We'll see what happens then.

I am beginning to sound like a broken record, yet, say I must.
