Au Revoir, Les BleusI have grown to realise something. That winning a tournament with scintillating football, is but an old mid-wife's tale. Barring Barcelona's swagger to the Champions' League title, the last few competitions have seen, underserving winners lift coveted trophies. Who can ever forget, the mother of all upsets in Euro 2004? It just took me a long time, to come to terms that Greece were the European Champions.
Then, there was a certain final played in Berlin. Two teams, with lots to play for. One having an exodus of players thanks to retirement from the game, the other, riding on a crest called destiny. Knn destiny la. It was just, luck.
Who'd have ever thought Viera would get injured pretty badly in the middle of the second half? Or expected Zizou, arguably the greatest exponents in the game (yes, I am biased), to let a moment of madness rush into his experienced head, and ram down the Italian dude with his shaven head? Not forgetting David Trezeguet. Man, when he stepped up to take his kick, I was saying, "Ah, no need to say. He'll bury it past Buffon."

The pic says it all. Boy, was I chuffed after the game was over. Probably the most bitterest stuff I'd to take, since that time when I had to down a jug of Tiger. Oh well, people around me sure had a field day. All those Joga Bonito and Looney fanatics. What goes around, truly does come around. haha.
Oh, and didn't help when the first person I saw in the morning, was Ms Aisha. And the first Italian player that crossed my mind upon seein her...

Yes, I have a pretty wild imagination. Oh well, at least it kinda made up for the morning.. =)
