Belief & TrustSean shared with me, this beautiful story, on belief and trust.
Once, a man brought a group of people to Niagara Falls. There, a tight rope was tied across it. He asked the crowd, "Do you believe, that I can make it across the Falls, on this tight rope?"
The crowd went, "No".
Our friend proceeds to cross the line, does somersaults and other stunts on it, before reaching the other end. The crowd applauded.
Again, he asked them, "Do you believe, that I can make it back to where I started?"
Crowd goes, "Yes!!".
"How about if I were to push a wheelbarrow on it?"
"Yes!!"
Finally, he asks them, "Alright then. Who would like to volunteer, to be on the wheelbarrow, as I push it, across the Falls?"
The crowd went silent.
Moral of the story: It is easy, for us, to believe in something, based on what we see. But developing trust in it, takes a lot more, than just, believing.
