As a good friend pointed out, that actually didn't look like a montage.. What to do, I have no patience in these kinda things one..

Everyone has their favourite teams, and stand by them, rooting out for them every season. Yet, we often have this other team, where we just have a soft spot for. Usually, its for the way the team plays. Flowing football, gritty football, we each have our own likes/dislikes.

I'm sure everybody knows which team I've always supported. But yet, during those years, I've always had a soft spot for another team. In fact, I must add that lotsa pple have a similar soft spot for this team too. Call it, the "People's Team"..

That's right, I'm talking about Newcastle United. Everyone remembers that season in 95, where they threw away a 15 point lead to Manchester United. But another reason people remember Newcastle United, is that they are often synonymous with the term, "Flowing Football".

Ok, maybe not the current batch, but from Keegan's days till the end of Bobby Robson's reign, we often look out for how Newcastle fairs in games. Ginola, Asprilla, Shearer, Ferdinand, Beardsley, Andy Cole, the list goes on.

So with that, lets roll back the years, and enjoy some glorious football played on arguably, the defining moment of the "People's Team"...

It's So Happening..

Sounds cheesy eh? Haha, sorry la, but I still have issues regarding the tagline for my Chitti's birthday party.

But one thing was for sure, it definitely lieved up to that tagline. And I'm NOT SAYING THIS BECAUSE WE HAVE A NEW ADOPTED FAMILY IN THE SINGH FAMILY (ooooh, hot chic... okie, I lie, I lie, I cheat, I cheat..), but it just made the Queen of the night one really happy girl..

And of course, she being the apple of my eye, had to oomph up a performance eh? So together with my fellow partner in crime, the youngest Chitti, we just rolled back the years with a stripped down version of a popular 80s song..

Haha, not that it was anything fantastic or what la. But I was glad the birthday girl thoroughly enjoyed it.. More pics from the function..

Naan Oru Nerd...

That's right. I am one. I've just given myself a self-imposed break for the next three days. Lifting it on Monday, so that I can start getting down to some work during the recess week.

But guess what??

Barely 4 hours into my day, I was actually DOING SOME WORK!!! ARGH!!

Haiz, as CPT Alan put it to me once, "We aren't workoholics la. Just a bunch of stupid workers."

Call it, the Stupid Worker Syndrome.. Period..

Now, moving to other matters. Yes, some might have noticed a profile that was creating waves throughout Friendster yesterday. No, Dawn Yang did not create a profile, but if she happened to, pls do pass the link.. =)

Thing is, yeah, Sai and I are dating. But that, WASN'T CREATED BY US. Yepz, we have a fan club brewing somewhere la. Must understand, right since Surya-Jo is no longer in the limelight, we're next. Harh!

Nonetheless, that profile's off. Thanks to reports from a few friends of ours, who suspected foul play, and of course, from me. Not bad, Friendster was pretty smart, and took it off within 6 hrs. Oh well, worth the ride.

So from stupid worker, to stupid profile, and now, to stupid actors..

Seriously, what's up with some of our Indian actors la. Aiyoh, globalisation taking over Kollywood? There are some actors whom I actually refuse to patronise either on the big screen, or even when I'm dying of boredom and almost every channel seems to be playing something daft, save for that Tamil movie. Except, being the case in every Tamil-speaking home, it ends up running on our boxes..

Meet SJ Suryah. This guy, deserves to be shot. Seriously. His only potent contribution to the filmworld, that voyeuristic movie Vaali, which sky-rocketted Ajith's career. So wait, this movie Vyabari means he's gonna be another Bill Gates?

I'm staying off this movie, though Namitha's presence might change my hand in this. Yes, JIGGY JIGGY!! Heh..

I wanted someone shot earlier right? There you go. Mr Sibi (CB la) Raj. So you get an idea that this is gonna be something like Goal eh? Wrong!

Check out the gun he's carrying. Guns and Footie do not go together. We do not want another Escobar. Bless his soul..

Aggressor vs Victim..

I couldn't think of a more apt title, to what I'm about to write in here. Its funny, how life throws at you situations, in such a way, you play both the roles that you would have read off my title. How I once was a victim under similar circumstances, and now, I have turned the aggressor, in another..

Does that make me a badder person? Nah, far from it. Its made me a wiser person. I can understand how you feel. Seeing someone that you once loved a lot, cared so much for, just leave you and then, a month passes and you find her in the arms of another. It ain't pleasant, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth..

But something I've grown to accept over that period of time, is that life, is never fair. That the saying, All is fair in love and war, is pretty true. Its all about acceptance, and now, I see you at a spot where I once was, a long time back..

And it sucks, to know that I have now become part of your pain, though most of it stems from your love towards the girl. All I hope, is that you really take care. Back then, I had my wonderful friends around me. They kept me going, and albeit hiccups here and there, I was glad to have exorcised my demons then...

We all react differently to a given situation. Some aggressively, some with relative caution.

Its not easy being me, for only I seem to react to everything with a lot of deep consideration and calculations. Heh, okie, the latter makes me sound manipulative. But you know roughly what I'm trying to get across here..

Right, off for an overnighter now. Stupid Stats tutor emails us on Mon announcing that there's a quiz tomorrow. Its even worse when you've mentally told yourself over the weekend that Tues' quiz will be the last, before recess week. Friggin' no mood to study also (no, not because of what's been bothering me, but the whole mental re-preparation phase). Argh, good thing Sis is staying up. Dunno anything, ask her. Heh..

Happy Birthday, September 13 Babies...

This is a first, so who better, than to start with a few Sept 13 pple eh?

Happy Birthday, Vin Huang!!! Ah, the buddy who planned a Fullerton buffet date with me, during Ex Chillhermit and Chillbone, but nothing ever came to fruition.. TWO YRS ON!!! Tsk tsk.. Heh..

And of course, dearest Sadhana Rai.. Heh, she squats to take pictures with me, and yet, still overshadows me with her towering height. Hope you liked the B'day song.. =)

Last, but definitely not, the least. The one woman who keeps me strong. The one, who's most definitely my embodiment of love. A Rajoo gets ROM-ed..

Yes, the first of the Rajoo cousins has finally gotten hitched, or engaged, or ROM-ed, as I'd like to call it. You might have seen him in a couple of Vasantham Dramas. Vikramaraj.

Pretty interesting though, as another family friend has gotten related to us. What amazed me, was that back when I was a teen, getting extra coaching with the tabla by Uncle Vijay, his kids were probably in primary school. Running around after house bhajans (that used to be weekly event), and getting chided by another uncle for doing so.

And there I was, amazed at how much his kids had grown up. Just about that time, one of my cousin (err, a little complicated to explain the links) and his wife retorted, "Waah, you look so different then. Not like Karthi-boy, from the time he was 4 till now, still the same facial features.". Harh, shalt take it as a compliment. Heh.

Oh well, all's well, ends well. Great to see the couple get ROM-ed. Which is quite scary, cause the next in line (by age), errr, is me..

Ever had those lift-me-up conversations that gets your day going, and wipes all the gloom away??

Ah yes, I had another one today. The last one, being sometime in early June, thanks to good ol' Tanya Ling, who probably would be reading this whilst skiving work given to her by Shah.. Heh, okie, I lie.. You do your work conscientiously..

Its just amazing, how the human mind works. Brood over something, and Pandora's box just opens. And you keep thinking of everything else, so much so you end up forgetting what you started off with. Yepz, Monyet mind, my Dad calls it.

But what's even better is, when someone you hold dearly comes up, and offers the listening ear, and actually provides constructive solutions, that gets you up and running. To The One, Thanks.. Much appreciated!!! =)

So yeah, all the gloom is gone, and as I get ready for the next coupla of weeks that hold at least 4 different tests, I will be back. With the one week break a fortnight away..

Man, I've never looked forward to such a break, for a very long time sia..

The Mystery behind Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink...

Footballing fans will know of a certain Dutch striker who goes by that name. Its often occured to me, as to what the name actually meant..

So after much searching, I have unravelled the truth..

"the new Celtic striker was thus named because, way back in the 17th century, two farming families in the Enschede area of Holland intermarried. Both the Vennegoor and Hesselink names carried equal social weight, and so - rather than choose between them - they chose to use both.

'Of' in Dutch actually translates to 'or', which would mean that a strict translation of his name would read Jan Vennegoor or Hesselink."

He went into hiding, eversince his last visit to Sri Nada.
