Lan Lan, Suck Thumb..

So, Dhool 07 has finally drawn to a close. To which I say, good riddance. No offence to the dance groups who participated, but the manner in which the whole competition was portrayed, would be, dare I say, cheesy. Preview rounds for the final, ok. Athu yenna, preview for semis. Why not preview for quarters, second prelims, first prelims?

Now, down to the topic of Vidiyal winning. To be honest, I only caught 10 minutes of the show, that too shuffling between changing into clothes after showering and preparing to go for practice. During this period, I managed to catch AcidHouz, Kali (steady la Ah-Loy) and Anarchy 99. It wouldn't be fair to pass judgement immediately but my first impressions were of Houz being the best amongst the three, followed closely by Kali.

Two hours later, whilst in the midst of practice, the Bibster smses, live from Caldecott, that Vidiyal had won. And as if on cue, Anu calls to announce NUS' dominance in this competition. Talks of Kalaichelvan started fillin' the room. I guess rumours will always be rumours, till there's substantial proof, that Mr Dhil Dhil (whom I find terribly irritating) was pullin the strings for NUS to win, in this case, Vidiyal.

However, based on the comments of many who watched the show, I gather that Houz Houz and Diversity seemed much likelier winners. I guess it is only fair, to point fingers at the judges then, rather than to point towards Vidiyal. Dun get me wrong here, I am no Vidiyal supporter, and no sms from my phone was a vote for them, or any other group for the matter.

Whatever the outcome, as the title suggests, life must go on. To Diversity and Houz Houz, I guess you guys did your best. To Vidiyal, congrats.

History has some of its winning moments littered with controversy. Like Shabir winnin' Vasantham Star (seriously, what were all of you thinkin, when you voted him la), Singapore winnin' the Tiger Cup in 1998 (the infamous back of god), Italy liftin the World Cup, Man U winnin the Champs League in 1999 etc etc.

You get the drift.

Unless you were stripped off your title as Miss Singapore India, upon realising that you actually are MARRIED.. =)
